The Brazilian-born Baccarin, age thirty-three, was until recently — and maybe still is — best known for her role on the short-lived 2009 ABC series V, on which she played the doe-eyed, pixie-cut alien queen with an excellent Q rating. And removable skin. It's her iconic role to date, save perhaps her part on the culty Firefly, which turned the heads of a thousand, thousand fanboys. "It's a coincidence," she says of starring in two major science-fiction projects. "I really look for strong female characters, or weak female characters, for that matter — something defined, tucked inside a great story. Reading V gave me straight-out goosebumps. You know, not knowing who your neighbors are, discovering that you live in an occupied state. Firefly I grabbed. We all thought it would last."

"These are two people who thought they had no chance to ever have a real love affair and they found each other and there's something fantastic and mind-blowing about that." -- Alan Ball
For four long years HBO True Blood fans of Sookie Stackhouse(Anna Paquin) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) have awaited 'the shower scene.'
The premium cable television series is based on the book series by Charlaine Harris about a telepathic waitress in the small Louisiana Town of Bon Temps and her fairly speedy realization (after 20-something years) that she is not the only one with special powers, that in fact, Bon Temps is a sort of mecca for all things fang-tasticly supernatural.
Even Sookie herself is less human than she once thought.
The scene in question took place in book four of the Sookie Stackhouse series, 'Dead To The World.' It was the first time that Sookie, having found out about her first vampire lover's deception/betrayal, took the Viking vampire, Eric Northman into her bed--or more correctly shower, where they made crazy-hot, passionate love.
The fans lapped it up and for years have, been looking forward with great anticipation to the 'Sookie and Eric shower scene'. Well folks, this is it.
Did it live up to the sky-high expectations that all the waiting and and especially talking up of the scene had generated? In a word, no.
As show-runner (and writer of this episode) Alan Ball had hinted that the shower scene on True Blood wasn't going to play out like the shower scene from the book.
Boy, was he right! Fact is, Sookie and Eric never actually got wet in the shower. They both were taking the equivalent of "V" trips (vampire blood--humans get high on it) and instead of water emanating from the shower--snow began to fall. Then Sookie and Eric found themselves in some kind of Viking forest fantasy world--complete with comfy bed where they hopped in and went to it.
And that, along with some trippy, you-had-to-be-there dialogue , was that. Ball has been knocked--even before this non-shower scene, that he favours the Sookie and Bill (Stephen Moyer) pairing over the Sookie-Eric one. If so, this scene would seem to give further evidence to that assertion. For my money, all the Sookie-Bill scenes have been hotter than whatever heat Sookie and cold, dead lover Eric have generated (like Bill, Eric is vampire).
So that's that, I suppose. Anna Paquin as Sookie is still very beautiful to look at but for my (cable bill) money I'm more satisfied with Sookie and Bill and in fact, look forward to the day that they reunite. Whether they stay that way is a big question but I have no doubt that before Alan Ball departs, there will be at least one more go-round with Bon Temps sexiest twosome.

Katy Perry sings "Hot N Cold" with Elmo on Sesame Street!
All Katy wants is to play dress-up while she's at Sesame Street, but Elmo is being hot n cold!
NEW YORK -- Katy Perry's cleavage is fine for Russell Brand,
not so for Elmo and Sesame Street.
The children's show says it won't air a taped segment featuring the "California Gurls" singer and Elmo.
The pop star -- who is known for her risque outfits -- wore a gold
bustier top as she sang a version of her hit "Hot & Cold." But some
felt it was too revealing for the kid set.
Sesame Street said in a statement Thursday that in light of the
"feedback we've received" after the bit was aired on YouTube, they won't
include it on the show.
...In 41 years on the air, the popular children's program has regularly
featured celebrities, artists and musicians to help educate children,
while engaging parents. ...While the show said the clip would still be available on YouTube, it
had been removed by the official Sesame Street YouTube channel.
I truly do not care about what Sesame Street does and does not air but I find the irony of banning the viewing a bit of boobage and I mean a wee bit, for a viewing audience of under-sixers really funny. Chances are at least 50% that these children that need to be "protected" from Katy's breasticles have been up close and personal with breasts many times. (It's called breast-feeding.)
What does piss me off is the ongoing Victorian attitude toward female breasts. Worst still, do you think it was male parents complaining about Katy's cleavage? Of course not. It was jealous, spiteful moms who hate Katy Perry because she's got a great body and god-forbid that their toddlers, or worse their kids' dads should see Katy's boobage. Woman are their own worst enemies and Sesame Street you spinelessly played right into their stupidity.
Maybe this should be unsurprising.
My experience with Sesame Street is through three male family members who were offered Sesame Street as diversion in the '60's '80's and 90's--all three little guys were utterly bored by the show. Though Jim Henson was amazing, he of course is long dead. Just the same, Children's Television Workshop, enjoy the free publicity!
Sesame Street, which recently banned Katy Perry's skit for her chest baring wardrobe, is now spoofing "True Blood." Parents who complained about Katy Perry's outfit, will surely have something to say about this.
Sesame Street is now taking on "True Blood" with a parody titled "True Mud." Bill and Sookie look alike muppets are seen talking "true mud" with a spoof that even includes the opening title song.
This "True Blood" parody comes on the same day that PBS announced Katy Perry's skit would not be seen on air due to parents protesting her low cut dress.
True Blood star Anna Paquin came out as bisexual in a newly
released PSA for the non-profit Give A Damn campaign. (Check out the video after the
jump.) Paquin, who is engaged to her True Blood costar Stephen
Moyer, joins gay and gay-friendly celebs Elton John, Cyndi Lauper,
Cynthia Nixon, Clay Aiken, Whoopi Goldberg, and Wanda Sykes in the
video, which promotes awareness for gay rights.

Poor Andy gets way more than an eyefull of what he'd have liked. He then becomes intent on making sure that Maryann knows that she needs a "license for the pig." Maryanne enjoys this deeply and escorts Det. Bellefluer to the place he said he saw it--and of course, it's gone.
She then cajoles the sporadically on-the-wagon Andy to have a beverage.
"Stephen Moyer's (Bill Compton, True Blood) guest appearance today on "The View." There's a great - if spoilery - season 2 scene included. Stephen is just so charming, I only wish the interview had lasted longer!"
